This year’s festival is the first since sexual assault allegations against its founder, Sean Carlson, emerged in November 2017. AEG and Goldenvoice have since bought out Carlson’s stake in the festival. Goldenvoice’s Jennifer Yacoubian has taken over booking duties. Shortly after the allegations initially surfaced last year, Goldenvoice parted ways with Carlson. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Goldenvoice president Paul Tollett explained that Carlson would have zero involvement with FYF going forward.
