Fallen warriors will be posting flags to honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country and for those who have served.  They will be placed on the lawn in front of the Richlands police department and along the streets of Richlands in remembrance of Memorial Day.  The weathered flag and brass tag with your loved ones’ information will be presented to the family in a special ceremony during the 2018 Richlands freedom festival.  The cost of the flag and brass tag will be $35.00 and the deadline for application is may 11, 2018.  Contact Ernie Lowe at 276-701-0289 to purchase a memorial flag.

Mar 15: Rotary Club of Princeton cabbage roll dinner at the First United Methodist Church of Princeton Thursday mar. 15 from 4-7 pm. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! Dine in or carry out! See any member of the rotary club of Princeton for tickets! Meals will be $8 and include 2 cabbage rolls, corn, and a roll. We will also have a variety of delicious desserts for $1.00. Supporting rotary is supporting projects in your community!

Apr. 1: The Church of New Beginnings in Cedar Bluff presents the production of – “worth it all” April 1st at 1pm and 7pm.  Pastors Danny and Tina Houchins welcome all to attend the play and invite family, friends as well.  If anyone has questions you can message the church of new beginnings on Facebook.

Apr 7: The Primitive Quartet from Candler, NC, will be featured in a gospel music concert sponsored by the Kiwanis club of Wythe county, VA. The Riches, a popular gospel music singing group from Wythe county will also perform.  The concert will be held at the George Wythe High School auditorium, 1 Maroon Way, Wytheville, VA on Saturday April 7, 2018.  Music will begin with the riches at 6:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:00 p.m.). The Primitive Quartet will start their performance at 7:00 p.m. This concert of bluegrass musicians and gospel music singers is a fundraising event in support of the Kiwanis club’s charitable projects to improve the welfare of children in the community.  The advance tickets are $10.00 for adults ($15.00 at the door).  Children under 12 are free.  Advance tickets may be purchased by credit/debit card (Visa, Discover, or Mastercard) by calling 276-228-4438.  Additional information concerning the event and/or purchase of tickets may be obtained by calling: Roy Hand (276-228-4427) or Doug Brewer (276-228-4456).
